Deaths from Defective Airbags Prompt Largest Recall Ever

A driver in a fender-bender that happened earlier this year in Houston died when his airbags deployed, spraying metal pieces at a high speed in his direction. His death, along with the deaths of many other people in the United States, have led to the biggest recall in the automotive industry, according to KXAN on May 19. 34 million vehicles have so far been recalled for the defective airbags manufactured by Japan-based automotive parts company Takata Corp.

Those with affected vehicles should visit their dealerships as soon as possible for repairs.
