Motorcyclist In Critical Condition Has to Be Flown to Hospital After Accident in Killeen
On Wednesday, March 14, 2018, a man suffered serious injuries after a pickup truck crashed into his motorcycle at busy intersection in Killeen. The injured man was in critical condition and was flown to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.
The incident was first reported right around 1 p.m. on Wednesday. The accident occurred at the intersection of Veterans Memorial Boulevard and Highland Avenue.
According to the police, the man was riding east using the outside lane of Veterans Memorial. The driver of the driver of the pickup truck was traveling northbound on Highland and failed to yield, which caused the collision with the motorcycle rider. Streets between W.S. Young Drive and 38th Street on Veterans Memorial had to be closed off because of the accident.
Police say that the injured man was not wearing his helmet when the accident occurred. According to the accident report, none of the three people who were riding in the pickup truck suffered any injuries.
