Roundup® Lawsuits in Texas

Monsanto, and its parent company Bayer, is facing thousands of lawsuits that claim its weed killer, Roundup®, caused individuals to develop cancer. It is alleged that the company failed to provide adequate warnings about the health risks associated with using its product. In three separate cases, in which plaintiffs claimed that exposure to Roundup® led to their cancer diagnoses, juries found Monsanto liable and awarded the victims millions of dollars in damages.

Cancer Diagnoses from Monsanto Roundup®

The main ingredient in Roundup® is an herbicide called glyphosate. Monsanto claims it is safe and has been using the substance in its weed killer for decades. However, in 2015, the World Health Organization reported that glyphosate is a possible carcinogen. Additionally, researchers at U.C. Berkeley, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and the University of Washington found that constant exposure to Roundup® put individuals at an increased risk of a cancer diagnosis.

Glyphosate has been linked to the following types of cancer:

  • B-cell Lymphoma
  • Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
  • Leukemia
  • Multiple myeloma

Companies, such as Monsanto, are expected to produce items that are safe for public use. When they fail to provide adequate warnings about the dangers of their products, they could be held responsible for injuries sustained by consumers.

If you were harmed after being exposed to Roundup®, contact our Texas lawyers for effective legal representation. Understanding that a cancer diagnosis could have lifelong effects, resulting in high medical bills, ongoing treatment, and pain/suffering, we will fight hard to recover just compensation on your behalf.
